Ups and Downs of a Little Boy
To continue Dex's weekend adventures:
Usually when I am in Malaysia I try to go for a Japanese meal at least once. On Sunday evening, us girl cousins: Lynn, her sister Imm, my sister Ai Li and I went to a Japanese restaurant in Sri Hartamas for dinner. My two nephews came along too. We ordered three set meals to share between us, and the food was quite good. Dex loves Japanese rice and steamed egg custard (chawanmushi). He ate a lot of it. He had a good time, playing with the children crockery which looks like a bullet train and messing up my hair and putting his fingers in my ears to make my head move. We went to a pancake house for dessert. He impatiently asked for "ice" which means ice cream and he got a glass of chocolate ice-cream from the waitress even before we ordered. We shared a sweet american pancake with strawberries and nuts between us.
It was nice to spend some time with my cousins. We used to hang out a lot when we were younger, but times like these are rare now.
On the way back, almost reaching home, he was playing happily and suddenly threw. Poor thing, it must have been really uncomfortable as he was crying a lot too. Sometimes when he runs or moves about a lot, he chokes and looks like he is going to throw up... sensitive throat or something like that. So at Babu's house they had to stop and get him changed and clean the car. It was already past 11pm. When he recovered and was refreshed, he wanted to read books and play with me, and did not want to go back to his other grandma's house. Unfortunately he could not stay as the next morning his dad was taking them to watch some lion dance performance. We had to force him into the car and he was crying so pitifully, holding on to the door and saying "No Ma Ma house". So although he had a really good day since he woke up in the morning, it ended a little miserably for him. Poor baby!
