In Memory of Sam French
It has taken me a long time to sit down and write this, for many reason, I've been busy and that it was a very sad event.
On 6 January 2007, we said our goodbyes to Cheng Sam French. Her funeral was held at the Parish Church of St. Mary's, Shortlands which is not far from where she lived and where she worshipped and sang with the choir. The church was full with her family and friends, and friends of her husband and daughters.
The service was quite simple. Apart from the usual prayers, her mother read from the Bible and her daughters read a poem. The Vicar also talked a bit about her life, and the choir sang.
After the church service, we (family and close relatives) followed the hearse to the crematorium for a short service. A wake was held at one of her close friends' home.
It was very reassuring for me to see that her husband, Chris, and daughters, Alice and Helen, were in good form and knowing that they are, and will be able to cope with the loss. It made it easier for me to cope with the loss.
